Pay the toll forward

Coming back from Washington, and after many, many tolls, I realized that it could be a nice gesture of kindness to pay the toll of the person behind me. Once again, I wrote another card and my friend Luiza, who was driving,  asked the officer to give it to the person behind us!

It was quite embarrassing when the officer asked us if this was a love letter! It was only at that moment that we realized that behind us there were two guys. So we just said ‘no’ and left, blushing, and wondering, what is the problem of just being kind?

Anyway, I know the officer did his job, because I’ve just received an e-mail thanking for the gesture! Of all the notes and objects I’ve been leaving around there, this was my first official response! Isn’t this nice???
